AI access · Public discovery pilot

Find local services with your AI assistant

Connect your AI client to Spotenda's public directory. Explore your options in conversation, then review and send your booking request on Spotenda.

For external AI clients

Connect to Spotenda

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI client use Spotenda's public discovery tools. This address is a connection endpoint, not a chat webpage.

Public discovery is enabled. No Spotenda sign-in or API key is required.

Select and copy this address into your AI client's remote MCP connection settings. Nothing is submitted from this page.

Connection name
Spotenda
Transport
Streamable HTTP
Authentication
No authentication / No sign in

Do not add passwords, API keys, authorization headers or browser cookies. The public endpoint rejects credentials and does not connect to your Spotenda account.

What your assistant can do

Four tools. Public information only.

Find a service

Search published businesses by service, town or postcode, category, budget and date. Postcode searches support a radius; town matching is text-based.

search_services

Understand a business

Read public service descriptions, pricing, booking styles and location types. Fictional demo listings stay clearly labelled.

get_business

Check a time or date

See advisory appointment starts, or whether a date-based service is accepting requests. Neither result holds a time or reserves daily capacity.

get_availability

Continue on Spotenda

Get a link to the normal booking form. Review current details and explicitly send the request yourself; the tool does not create a booking.

prepare_booking_handoff

Results are bounded and can be incomplete. Availability may change. An AI explanation is not a guarantee of service suitability, qualifications, price agreement or business acceptance.

Set up your AI client

Use a client that supports remote MCP with Streamable HTTP. Custom connections depend on your account and workspace permissions. Setup labels can change; follow your provider's current guidance.

ChatGPT

  1. If custom MCP connections are available to your account, open Plugins and choose Add custom MCP server.
  2. Use the name Spotenda, the Server URL above and No authentication.
  3. Review the warning yourself, create the plugin, then install and select it in a supported conversation.

Claude

  1. Open your account's Connectors settings and add a custom remote connector. An organization administrator may need to add it first.
  2. Use the name Spotenda and the Server URL above. Select No sign in and leave credentials and request headers empty.
  3. Finish setup and enable the connector for your conversation.
Official Claude connection guide

Guidance checked on 21 October 2026. The public server has passed official SDK protocol tests; actual ChatGPT and Claude account connections have not yet been verified. This is not a claim of a certified integration or directory listing.

You stay in control of the booking

  1. Explore with your assistant. Share the service and area you need, then choose a business and an advisory date or time.
  2. Review on Spotenda. Open the returned link, check the current service, price, date, timezone and location, and enter contact details in the normal form.
  3. Send a request yourself. Guests confirm their email. Every request needs business approval; a date enquiry does not reserve capacity before acceptance.

The external tools cannot create, confirm, cancel or reschedule bookings, read private booking history, access accounts, send emails or create business listings.

Try asking

“Use Spotenda to find a haircut in York under £30. Ask me for the date, show available times, then give me a link to review my choice.”
“Use Spotenda to find cake makers around Bristol. Ask me for the fulfilment date and check which are accepting date requests.”

Before you connect

Why does the MCP address say “method not allowed” in my browser?

That is expected: the endpoint accepts MCP requests by POST, not normal webpage visits by GET. Copy it into an AI client's connection settings. This guide is the human-readable page.

Is this the same as Spotenda's AI chat page?

No. Spotenda's AI assistant is a separate on-site chat experience and may be paused independently. This guide is for connecting an external AI client. You can always use ordinary search.

What about privacy and costs?

External assistants handle your messages under their own policies. Do not include passwords, private addresses or booking contact details in a chat; enter required contacts only on Spotenda's normal form. Public tools do not access private customer records or store external conversations. They use operational rate counters.

No Spotenda integration subscription is required, and these tools do not call Spotenda's OpenAI or Google Places integrations. Your AI provider's plan or usage charges may apply. Check your access and costs before changing plans. Read our external-assistant privacy information.

What if the connection is unavailable or rate-limited?

Check the exact Server URL and no-authentication setting. If your client reports throttling, wait for its retry guidance rather than repeatedly reconnecting. There is no automatic booking retry. Use service search or contact help@spotenda.com without sharing passwords or keys.
